FALL 2008 Fashion Trends here!

I bet you're saying..."Wait...we haven't even gotten to Spring yet! " I agree, but fashion week in New York for Fall '08 has already happened, so here's a little peak at what the trends will be.

#1: Colors! Vibrant colors: Shades of green will be a huge hit and so will Purples.

#2: Belts: Most are skinny

#3: Hats

#4: Ombre: An effect when fabric fades gradually from a light hue to a dark hue

#5: Feathers: (I think I'll skip this one!)

#6: Skirts: From mini to longer lengths

#7: Menswear: Plaids, tweeds and oversized shapes

#8: Pleats: In skirts

#9: One-Shoulder Dresses

What are Oprah's Favorite Things?

I happened to catch "Oprah's Favorite Things" show and she was giving her favorite things to each audience member. Wouldn't we have all loved to have been in that audience?

Her fashion items started with Ugg Classic Crochet Boots, then went to the "Toy Watch"(pictured above), Kai Body Butter was another favorite, and then her favorite comfy outfit was from an LA designer...pants ran at $194 and the top ran at $141...little over my price range.

My favorite item (that has nothing to do with fashion) was the $3,750 refrigerator by LG. This stainless steel refrigerator has a built-in LCD TV with a DVD hook-up! It also has 100 built-in recipes!

When economy is down...lipstick sales are UP!

I was listening to one of my favorite radio shows yesterday and they were talking about lipstick. They said that it has been reported in the Wall Street Journal that when the economy is hurting, then lipstick sales take a major jump. Why might that be you ask? Women have a hard time not buying for themselves and when they are worried about paying the mortgage buying a lipstick is a pretty inexpensive way to indulge.

They also talked about what dropped in sales drastically in a hurting economy...breast jobs, lasik eye surgery and all plastic surgery. I guess these surgeries can be lived without in hard times, but lipstick is a necessity!

So just slap a little lipstick and everything will be ok!

Fashion Trend of the Week: "Prima" Flats by Crocs

There has been much controversy about the "Crocs". Do we like them? Do we hate them? Some are indifferent. I am on the side of hate until now. I would possibly consider the new crocs above if they are as comfortable as I have heard.

I have seen magazines giving clothing recommendations many times for Charlotte Russe. I visited the store near me and was told they did not have a website. That was a bummer. I like to do most of my shopping online.
